Final Fantasy 14 Announces Last Event Before 7.3 Update

ElainaGames2025-07-023411

On July 1, Square Enix revealed that the Moogle Treasure Trove event would return to Final Fantasy 14 as the last major activity until the launch of Patch 7.3, The Promise of Tomorrow. The Moogle Treasure Trove campaign begins on July 8 and will offer Final Fantasy 14 players an opportunity to score some rare rewards, primarily from the Shadowbringers expansion.

Held before most major patches, the Moogle Treasure Trove allows Final Fantasy 14 players to collect a currency called Irregular Tomestones obtained from completing specific tasks like dungeons, trials, and ocean fishing. These tomestones can then be redeemed at an Itinerant Moogle NPC in the cities of Ul'dah, Gridania, and Limsa Lominsa for cosmetic rewards, with some being exclusive to the Moogle Treasure Trove campaign. The previous Moogle Treasure Trove event, held in February and March 2025, allowed players to claim the rare Paissa Earring as a cosmetic glamour item for their collections.

However, Final Fantasy 14 players will have another round of the Moogle Treasure Trove event to participate in until the update hits the servers. Subtitled The Hunt for Allegory, the next Moogle Treasure Trove begins on Tuesday, July 8, at 4:00 AM Eastern and ends once Final Fantasy 14 goes into maintenance ahead of Patch 7.3. Given that Patch 7.3 will arrive within the first days of August, Final Fantasy 14 players will have approximately four weeks to earn as many Irregular Tomestones of Allegory as they wish and claim the rewards they want.

Final Fantasy 14 Moogle Treasure Trove Returns July 8

Close The Moogle Treasure Trove: The Hunt For Allegory event starts on Tuesday, July 8. The event runs until the launch of Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.3 in early August. Based on the timing, players will have around four weeks to participate in the Moogle Treasure Trove. Rewards include the Coffee Cup Earring and other cosmetics primarily obtained in Shadowbringers content.

Irregular Tomestones of Allegory are earned by completing various entries in the Mogpendium, including Weekly Objectives and MiniMog Challenges that can be completed once per week for extra tomestones. The Ultimog Challenge can only be done once per Moogle Treasure Trove event, but it yields the biggest payout of Irregular Tomestones. The challenge list for the Moogle Treasure Trove will be made public starting July 8.

The most expensive rewards that FF14 players can earn during the Moogle Treasure Trove are the Coffee Cup Earring and the Return To Oblivion Orchestrion Roll, which will cost 100 Tomestones apiece. The earring is exclusive to the Moogle Treasure Trove event, while the music roll is a rare drop from the Eden raid series featured in Shadowbringers. Other pricey items include the Ruby Gwiber mount, the Ephemeral Necromancer minion, and the Gyr Abanian Plait hairstyle, priced at 50 Tomestones each.

Final Fantasy 14's next patch will include some highly requested player features, including additional headgear options for Viera and Hrothgar player characters. How many players will take part in the Moogle Treasure Trove campaign remains to be seen.
