Rematch Launches Cosmetics Collaboration With Famous Athletics Brand

CatalinaGames2025-06-293020

Rematch, developed by independent video game studio Sloclap, has officially rolled out its first branded cosmetics collab, teaming up with global sportswear heavyweight Puma. It’s a big moment for the recently released Rematch, as it introduces a new level of immersive customization to its high-energy, arcade-style soccer experience.

After launching on June 19, Rematch saw a strong start, as over 92,000 concurrent players joined in on Steam during the first day. The early momentum largely comes from the way it changes the traditional formula. There are no fouls, offsides, throw-ins, or goal kicks. Instead, each match takes place in a closed arena where the ball stays in motion from start to finish. That constant movement keeps the game flowing, with the focus entirely on dribbling, positioning, and scoring under pressure.

On June 27, the game announced its collaboration with Puma, a company known for its presence in both football and streetwear. As part of the collaboration, the online multiplayer football game Rematch added its first fully branded cosmetic pack, with players now able to wear Puma jerseys, shorts, shin guards, and boots during matches. The items follow Puma’s recognizable design, and the boots and guards come from the Puma Future line - a performance-oriented series built for actual football play. Rematch has also confirmed this is just the beginning, noting that more content tied to the Puma collaboration is in development, stating “there's more to come.”

In a press release, Félix Garczynski, Head of Marketing & Publishing at Sloclap, described the collaboration with Puma as a strong fit, explaining that Rematch was designed to capture “the full energy, the style, the competition and self-expression,” and called Puma “a perfect partner” thanks to its presence in both gaming and football. Ivan Dashkov, Puma’s Director of Emerging Marketing Technology, added that “football is part of Puma’s DNA,” aligning naturally with the game’s identity. It is worth highlighting that Rematch also took the opportunity to reassure players that crossplay is still being developed and remains a central focus for the team.

While the game’s launch has brought attention and strong engagement, it hasn’t been without problems. However, the developers have moved quickly to respond. A recent Rematch patch targeted two major gameplay issues. One was the “outfield dive,” also known as the Dolphin Dive, which allowed players players bypass stamina limits. The other was a wall dribbling/climbing glitch that allowed unnatural movement across the arena. The update also included fixes for camera jitter during goal replays and added general stability improvements aimed at making the game run more smoothly.
