Call of Duty: Warzone May Be Teasing a Cel-shaded Rebirth Island Map Variant: Fans Await New Content in Season 4 Reloaded Update

With the release of the mid-season update for Call of Duty: Warzone's Season 4 Reloaded just around the corner, fans are eagerly awaiting new content to hit the game. And it seems like they may be getting more than they expected, as rumors are swirling that a cel-shaded version of Rebirth Island could be on the way.

The speculation began after content creator JGOD noticed that the promotional image for the upcoming Beavis and Butt-Head operator skins seemed to be on a cel-shaded version of Rebirth Island that has never been seen before. Although Activision didn't mention anything about the collaboration including new map variants, Call of Duty has released numerous cel-shaded maps in the past, so it wouldn't be surprising to see one of the game's most iconic maps get a new makeover for the Beavis and Butt-Head collaboration.

A cel-shaded version of Rebirth Island would also be appropriate, considering this is the same style as the upcoming Beavis and Butt-Head skins. However, these aren't the first cel-shaded skins to be added to Call of Duty since the launch of Black Ops 6. The first was an anime-style skin for the Alvarez operator, but not everyone was pleased about it. Despite the fact that Modern Warfare 3 featured plenty of cel-shaded skins, their arrival in Black Ops 6 divided the community, as many continued to rally for Treyarch Studios to add more realistic cosmetic items to the game in order to keep with the 90s setting of the Black Ops 6 campaign.

Rumors have been circulating that Activision is actively considering toning down the unrealistic operator skins in Call of Duty, but it's unclear when this change may take effect. In the meantime, fans can keep an eye out for any further announcements or teasers from Activision regarding a potential cel-shaded Rebirth Island variant.

In addition to the Beavis and Butt-Head skins and potential new map variant, Season 4 Reloaded will also be adding Ranked Play Resurgence, a new Casual Resurgence mode similar to Battle Royale Casual, a new Care Package Killstreak, and much more. Players can expect to see these updates hit the game in the coming days, as Activision continues to support and expand its popular free-to-play Battle Royale title.

With so much new content on the horizon for Call of Duty: Warzone, it's clear that Activision is committed to keeping the game fresh and exciting for its dedicated player base. Whether or not a cel-shaded Rebirth Island variant is on the way, fans can rest assured that there's plenty more to come in the world of Call of Duty.
