‘The Bear’ Will Officially Return for Season 5

How long can Carmy go on like this? That was the most pressing question on audience’s minds heading into The Bear season 4, where Jeremy Allen White’s tense Chicago chef continues to wrestle with some of the demons that have plagued him over the past four seasons.
When we last left The Bear, the FX drama’s “To Be Continued” banner metaphorically locked viewers in the fridge just as the kitchen started firing on all cylinders. Carmy and Sidney’s (Ayo Edebiri) restaurant, the Bear, was seconds away from reading its first major review in the Chicago Tribune. The ensuing chaos plays out in season 4, which sees Carmen Berzatto begin the work to heal and find out who he is beyond the kitchen.

But I couldn’t have been more wrong. Even with season 4's finale leaving the door open for Jeremy Allen White to exit the show, The Bear’s record-breaking 23 Emmy nominations say a lot about the potential longevity of the culinary drama. So, FX just renewed the series for season 5. According to FX head John Landgraf, audiences should expect the next installment in 2026.
“The Bear continues to be a fan favorite worldwide, and their response to this season—as seen through incredibly high viewership—has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons," Landgraf said in the official press release. "Year-in and year-out, [creator] Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make The Bear one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story."
Last summer, Landgraf told Variety that he hoped that Storer had, "more than one more season of story to tell” beyond season 4. “Not to the extent that if there was one great season or three mediocre ones, I’d rather have one great one,” he continued. “You just have to follow the creative.”
Until then, I'll keep praying for a Fak cousins spin-off.
