Pokemon TCG Pocket Leak Teases Changes to Trade System

CalvinGames2025-06-287000

A new Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket rumor has teased changes coming soon to the trading system. After Pokemon TCG Pocket was released, one of the features most requested by players was the ability to trade cards with each other. In January 2025, the anticipated feature finally debuted in the game, but its reception generated mixed reactions.

While players liked the feature, other Pokemon TCG Pocket players were frustrated with how the system worked. The biggest complaints were the high cost of trade tokens and that some cards could not be traded, which surprised Pokemon TCG Pocket players. After the initial negative feedback, deNA announced on January 31 that it would adjust the system and then started giving away trade tokens to players relatively frequently. The developers addressed the issue again on March 13, revealing the future removal of trade tokens and other adjustments to make trades more enjoyable and accessible. Now, a Pokemon TCG leak sheds light on even more potential tweaks.

On the Pokemon TCG Pocket subreddit, user sylveon_eevee claims that the trading system will get an update on July 29. According to them, Pokemon TCG Pocket will remove trade tokens, and Shinedust will take its place as the currency used for trades. The conversion of trade tokens to Shinedust will be unlimited and start with players using one token to obtain 10 Shinedust. It will also be possible to get 100 or 1000 Shinedust in these conversions, but the leak does not reveal how many tokens will be necessary in each case.

The post also claims that up to 60 trade tokens can be exchanged for 60 packs of Hourglasses. Pokemon TCG Pocket will allow players to create a card wishlist that their trading partner can view, a change that aims to facilitate communication between the two sides. The OP notes that the Shinedust cost for trades is currently not confirmed and that promotional and two-star Pokemon TCG Pocket cards will not be included in this update.

The information shared by sylveon_eevee should be taken with a grain of salt, as it is currently speculation and may change until an official announcement from the developers. While the Pokemon TCG Pocket community waits for more information about these anticipated updates, players can check out the themed booster pack Eevee Grove. The newest miniset added 107 new cards inspired by Eevee and its evolutions, and one of the highlights is Eevee ex, the first Basic ex Pokemon capable of evolving.
