Quaxly Takes Center Stage: Pokemon GOs July 2025 Community Day Event Preview

Pokemon GO is gearing up for its next Community Day event, scheduled for July 20, 2025, and has teased the featured Pokemon as Quaxly, the Water-type starter from the Paldea region. While there has been no official confirmation from the game's developers, the social media team's latest teaser hints strongly at Quaxly's inclusion in the event. Fans of the Pokemon franchise were first introduced to Quaxly in 2022 when he debuted as the Water-type starter of the Paldea region. Despite being the least popular starter in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Quaxly's fans are eagerly awaiting his inclusion in the July's Pokemon GO monthly event. In a recent Twitter post, the game's social media team previewed the next Community Day Pokemon with eye and water wave emojis, along with a brief six-second video. The teaser featured a pair of blue, webbed feet attached to a rounder white lower body, which many fans recognized as Quaxly's distinct silhouette. However, the July Community Day reveal has caused a bit of confusion among the player base for a couple of reasons. Some were expecting to see Gen 8 regional bird Rookidee in Quaxly's place, but Rookidee has actually been confirmed as Pokemon GO's Community Day Pokemon for August 30, 2025. This decision was the result of a Community Day poll held on the game's official YouTube channel earlier in June, in which Rookidee swept the competition by collecting 77 percent of the vote. Before Quaxly takes center stage, there is another special annual event that will place Eevee in the spotlight. Pokemon GO's two-day summer Community Day Classic event takes place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time on both July 5 and July 6. Any Eevee caught or hatched during the special event period will automatically learn the charged move Last Resort, while all eight of its various evolutions will come equipped with their own special charged attack. Additionally, the Community Day Classic event will include special bonuses like one-quarter egg-hatching distance and longer durations for lure modules and incense. Overall, the excitement among Pokemon GO players is palpable as they eagerly await Quaxly's arrival as the featured Pokemon for July's Community Day event.
