Overwatch 2 is crossing over with Persona 5 during Season 18, bringing skins of Joker and other characters from the hit JRPG to the hero shooter. While the exact starting date and details for this collaboration are not yet known, players can expect to see this Overwatch 2 crossover event in Season 18.

During Gamescom, Blizzard revealed Stadium Quickplay, the 18th seasonal update for Overwatch 2. This major patch introduces some exciting stuff to the shooter, including additional maps, heroes, and game modes for Stadium, the updated Hero Progression 2.0 system, and a brand-new Overwatch 2 support hero named Wuyang.
Overwatch 2 x Persona 5 Coming in Season 18
However, one of the most exciting parts of the season trailer was the crossover stinger at the end. Mesmerizing patterns and black and gray stars appear over a red field, shortly before a familiar silhouette drops down and fixes his gloves. The view then zooms in, showing the iconic mask of Joker, the protagonist of Persona 5, with three bullet holes appearing in the nearby star, confirming a collaboration event between the hit JRPG and Overwatch 2 is coming soon.
Little information is known about the Persona 5 crossover yet, but a look at previous Overwatch 2 collabs can give fans an idea. It will likely include at least four hero skins, though some crossovers have had up to twice as many. Most will assumedly be purchasable in the store, but if players are lucky, they may be able to earn one via in-game challenges. So far, Joker is the only Persona 5 character confirmed for the collab, and considering the star and bullet holes, it seems like Cassidy may be the Overwatch 2 hero who gets this headlining skin.

The Overwatch 2 x Persona 5 crossover doesn’t have a start date yet, but it won’t be available at the beginning of Season 18. Past collabs have traditionally kicked off a few weeks after their respective updates, so this one probably won’t start until at least September, if not October. Fans can expect to learn more about this crossover after Overwatch 2 Season 18 arrives on August 26.
Speaking of collaborations, OW2 has confirmed that the skins from the Cowboy Bebop crossover will also be returning for a limited time in Season 18. Beyond the second LE SSERAFIM event, this will be the first time Overwatch 2 has brought back skins from an external IP collaboration. Now that it has happened once, players might start seeing second chances to pick up other popular Overwatch 2 crossover skins as well.
