Marriott International has entered a multi-unit agreement with Corporación Polaris and Cardedeu for the launch of four City Express by Marriott properties, marking the brand’s entry into El Salvador.

This move is expected to add 440 rooms to Marriott's portfolio, enhancing its footprint in the cost-effective midscale segment within the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region.

Marriott International CALA development vice president Alonso Burgos said: "This agreement reinforces our commitment to expanding access to reliable, high-quality hospitality options across the region, and to providing guests with meaningful experiences at every price point."

El Salvador's tourism and business sectors have shown growth, with hotel room capacity more than doubling through new agreements, encompassing the recent JW Marriott Hotel San Salvador.

The four upcoming City Express by Marriott properties are strategically located to cater to both business and leisure travellers.

The City Centro by Marriott San Salvador is expected to open by the end of this year with 31 rooms, providing guests with easy access to attractions.

Slated to open in late 2026, City Express by Marriott Aeropuerto will offer a link between the metro area and the International Airport. Meanwhile, City Express by Marriott Santa Elena will be positioned along the Pan-American Highway.

City Express Plus by Marriott property is set to welcome guests in late 2027 in the San Benito district.

Corporación Polaris president Alberto Guerrero said: “The anticipated debut of these City Express by Marriott properties in the coming years not only reaffirms Polaris’ commitment to excellence and regional growth but also helps meet the growing demand for hotel accommodations in El Salvador.”

City Express by Marriott is a part of Marriott Bonvoy's global portfolio of more than 30 brands.

These new properties in El Salvador build on the brand's growth strategy, which includes expansion into Argentina, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Peru, and the US and Canada.

Earlier this year, Marriott International opened the first City Express property in Duluth, Georgia, US.

"Marriott signs agreement to launch City Express brand in El Salvador" was originally created and published by Hotel Management Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
