Inside Kid Cudi and Lola Abecassis Sartore’s Wedding Weekend in the South of France

Scott Mescudi—better known as Kid Cudi—and Lola Abecassis Sartoremet caught each other’s attention in 2018 at Virgil Abloh’s first show for Louis Vuitton. “I was working behind the scenes, and Scott was walking the runway,” Lola, who was previously a designer at Louis Vuitton and is now head designer at ERL, remembers of how she met the Grammy-winning musician and actor. “Our eyes met in the chaos, and there was a silent spark. After the show, Scott walked straight up and asked for my number.”

The two had been dating for about a year when Scott proposed on December 28th, 2023, in Kyoto. “It was so romantic,” Lola remembers. “He took me around town to visit different temples, and at the end of the day, he rented a temple just for the two of us to have our own moment. He got down on his knee and proposed. It was just us watching the sunset in this beautiful Japanese garden.”

The wedding took place on June 28 at Cap Estel in Èze, near where Lola grew up in the South of France, and the couple worked with Jesse Tombs to plan their ideal wedding weekend. “It was intense—but so fun and enjoyable to get to turn our vision into our dream weekend,” Lola says. “Jesse, Alice, and the team were so supportive of our vision, and they made the process so easy and enjoyable. Wedding planning can get very stressful, but they made sure to turn all our dreams into reality. From choosing the location to building a bounce castle as an homage to our dear friend Virgil Abloh, they made it all so easy.”
