Fallout Fan Shares Custom Real-Life Terminal

A passionate Fallout fan has built their own real-world fully functioning replica of the terminals from the game, built out of an old computer. The beloved post-apocalyptic RPG series from Bethesda features a wide variety of different technology for players to discover and use, putting a futuristic spin on the game's 1950s aesthetic. While the overall culture of Fallout's world remained in the post-war era, the advancement of technology saw marvels like Power Armor and the Pip-Boy wearable computer emerge. Now, one fan is showing off their impressive recreation of a Fallout terminal.

Fallout's terminals serve as one of the most important forms of technology players can use throughout recent Fallout games. terminals are used for everything from controlling doors and turrets to managing several different elements of the player's settlements. Fallout's terminals are also used with the franchise's Science skill, with players boasting high enough Science skill levels able to hack into terminals. A particularly creative Fallout fan is now showing off their own real-world homage to the franchise's terminals.

Reddit user Laura_Beinbrech is showing off their stunning real-world terminal on the official Fallout subreddit. The user shows off a fantastic recreation of a Fallout terminal, creating the design out of the shell of a broken Heathkit H89 computer and accenting it with Fallout designs and stickers. The Fallout terminal is also fully functional, running Linux Mint as its operating system and even revealing that the Reddit post was made from the fan-made terminal. The user is also planning to further tweak the operating system to make the real-world terminal's user interface look similar to Fallout's in-universe computer systems.

The stunning Fallout terminal saw plenty of praise from fellow fans in the replies to the post. Many were quick to laud the stunning likeness of Fallout terminals, with one user paying particular mention to the Minuteman logo used as the background for the terminal. Another user also shared their own experience with building a real-world terminal and suggested a custom firmware they designed to fit the Fallout aesthetic. Amazon will debut the second season of its live-action Fallout series in December, with the studio already confirming that Fallout has been renewed for a future third season.
