Elden Ring Nightreign: Fulghor, the Darkdrift Knight, Confirmed as Next Everdark Sovereign Boss: Prepare for a Nightmarish Challenge in Limveld
FromSoftware has announced the next Everdark Sovereign boss in Elden Ring Nightreign, and it's a powerful foe not to be faced lightly. Elden Ring's base game was released in 2022, introducing soulslike fans to the Lands Between and pitting them against some of the most punishing bosses in video game history. The torment continued during the title's massive Shadow of the Erdtree expansion in 2024, and Elden Ring Nightreign is continuing the IP's notorious difficulty.
Nightreign was released in May 2025 as a co-op spin-off to the base game, offering a procedurally generated version of the map titled Limveld. Recently, Elden Ring Nightreign received a major player count spike thanks to the addition of Gaping Jaw, the first Everdark Sovereign boss. Now, the developer has revealed the next adversary of this ilk.
Announced via Elden Ring's official Twitter account, the developer confirmed that the next Everdark Sovereign boss would be an overpowered version of the Darkdrift Knight, Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow. It was also confirmed that the centaur enemy would arrive in Limveld on June 26, 2025, at 4 PM CEST / 7 AM PDT / 11 PM JST. Nightfarers were encouraged to gather their forces, noting, "Only thunderous radiance shall still the sacred echoes of the Night."
The Darkdrift Knight is a difficult boss to beat in Elden Ring Nightreign, and despite the hard graft needed to defeat the centaur, fans are brimming with excitement to face its Everdark Sovereign version. Some players recalled that they had a "blast" facing the previous Everdark Sovereign, Gaping Jaw, and one fan admitted they needed practice against the centaur's base version, especially to nail the timing of its charging attacks. Others had more of a defeatist attitude to the boss' addition, expressing that players were "cooked."
Elden Ring Nighteign's Everdark Sovereigns require some explanation to understand fully. These events present more difficult-to-beat versions of the game's eight Nightlords, designed to challenge expert players' wit. Nightfarers must beat the regular version of the Nightlord first to unlock the Everdark Sovereign challenge during their allocated time on offer. Upon completion, and not for the faint-hearted, players will be rewarded with Sovereign Sigils, which are one of the currencies available in Nightreign.
With Fulghor as the next Everdark Sovereign boss, Elden Ring Nightreign continues to push the boundaries of difficulty for even the most seasoned soulslike fans. Only time will tell if this formidable foe will live up to the hype and provide a worthy challenge for players.
