Dune Awakening Releases New Update for July 2025

YvetteGames2025-07-032080

Funcom has released the patch 1.1.10.0 update for the survival game Dune: Awakening, which brings a long list of fixes and improvements to Arrakis. Dune: Awakening was released into the wild at the beginning of June, offering players an alternate timeline of science-fiction writer Frank Herbert’s creation, one in which the protagonist Paul Atreides never existed. Customizable characters, spice farming, and political power play await fans of the series, and being such an expansive game, the title has a few creases to iron out.

Despite receiving favorable reviews after launch, Dune: Awakening began suffering griefing problems within the player base, and the in-game harassment is affecting multiple users’ gameplay. Much of the griefing issue occurs in the game’s Deep Desert, where players use ornithopters to trap spice harvesters. It’s a problematic frustration that Funcom will hopefully calm soon, but in the most recent update, glitch fixes and quality-of-life improvements are taking priority.

Announced on social media and through a blog post, the developer confirmed patch 1.1.10.0 was now live, and players can check out Dune: Awakening’s full 1.1.10.0 patch notes to see the complete list of changes included in the update. Some of the highlights include a fix for the damaging resource duplication glitch, which saw players creating unlimited materials, and both Harkonnen and Atreides' attacks against bases have been reduced. Furthermore, the impartial sandworms are more likely to appear at recently harvested spice fields, and additional unique weapon schematics have been added to Asmara Efendi’s shop.

The community was quick to flag problems joining the servers after the update went live, and thanks was also given to the devs for listening to feedback. In addition to Dune: Awakening players requesting a larger bank storage, reports have also been rolling in on the heels of the recent patch to flag missing inventory issues while traveling to the Deep Desert or Hagga Basin using the World Map. Funcom has addressed the problem on social media, confirming a fix has already been rolled out.

The game’s endgame content has caused some controversy within the MMO community, as much of the best loot is found within the endgame’s Deep Desert. The catch? Players have to enter a PvP environment to obtain the premium stash. Dune: Awakening’s future endgame update promises to improve the game’s longevity, when it comes to PvE and PvP experiences, giving fans longer gameplay in the sand and a less frustrating time at that.
