Set to premiere on July 25, the movie will also feature returning cast members from the original, including Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit, Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, and Ben Stiller as Hal. New characters will be portrayed by Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio (Bad Bunny), Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Conor Sherry, Ethan Cutkosky, Philip Fine Schneider, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Travis Kelce, and Blake Clark.

The other movie Sandler will be seen in is Oscar-winning filmmaker Noah Baumbach's newest coming-of-age dramedy "Jay Kelly," which will star George Clooney and Laura Dern. Further details about its plot and characters are still being kept under wraps. Produced by Netflix, the movie is currently slated for a November 2025 release.

The development of "They Were Just Nice People" marks another exciting collaboration between Sandler and Clark, who have previously worked together on several projects including "The Cabin in the Woods" and "The Lego Batman Movie."
