Ironheart: The Tech-Suit Adventure Coming to Disney+ on June 24
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand on Disney+, fans are eagerly awaiting the latest addition to the franchise: Ironheart. The Ryan Coogler-produced series, which follows Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) as she navigates life in her hometown of Chicago and crafts a tech suit to rival Tony Stark's Iron Man creation, is set to premiere on June 24.
The six-episode series will be released in two parts, with the first three episodes dropping on Tuesday, June 24 at 6 p.m. PST. The first block includes the pilot, "Take Me Home," as well as "Will The Real Natalie Please Stand Up" and "We In Danger, Girl." The second half of the season will be released on July 1, with episodes 4, 5, and 6 titled "Bad Magic," "Karma's a Glitch," and "The Past Is the Past," respectively.
On the magic side of the show is Parker Robbins a.k.a. "The Hood" (Anthony Ramos), who makes an offer to Riri that she cannot refuse. The show also stars Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, and Anji White.
While some fans have expressed "superhero fatigue" over the number of Marvel projects released by Disney+, Ironheart is expected to be a hit. The show is part of a line of Marvel shows that have been hit or miss for the streaming service, with some programs like WandaVision and Loki being major successes while others like Echo and Secret Invasion have been less popular. However, Marvel is hoping to change the tune with the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July, which stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Ebon-Moss Bachrach as Ben Grimm, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm. The film releases in theaters on July 25.
