Two Pickup Drivers Road Rage In Iowa

Chances are road rage is something you consider a problem where you live, including if you reside in Iowa. That’s why the Iowa Department of Transportation recently shared dashcam footage of two pickup truck drivers going at it on a highway to prove a point.

Minivan driver who caused a huge highway crash, then drove off, has been caught.

In the footage, our cam car and the two pickups are in the left lane going around a slower-moving semi-truck. As soon as the trucks get around the semi, we see the Ford F-150 has been tailgating the Ram in front of it.

The Ford driver swerves into the right lane, accelerates hard, then cuts into the left lane right in front of the Ram. Then the Ram driver does the same thing, probably thinking he’s taught the Ford driver a lesson.

Both then run into slower traffic ahead, so the whole exchange and jockeying for position was obviously pointless.

You’ve probably seen this sort of thing many times before.

What exactly prompted the spat of road rage isn’t clear. It could be one driver thought the other wasn’t going fast enough in the left lane or was left lane camping.

Speaking of the latter theory, many people have pointed out the camera car technically violates traffic law by staying in the left lane after going around the semi. That sort of thing slows down the flow of traffic.

But just because someone does something like that doesn’t justify another driver going full road rage. There is no excuse for raging out on the road. People who do show they have poor control of their actions.

Do other drivers do things that are annoying, frustrating, even dangerous? Of course. But flying off the handle when they do is annoying, frustrating, even dangerous, thus it’s completely hypocritical.

Remember kids: road rage is dumb. It shows someone isn’t mature enough to handle their emotions in more positive ways.

The incident of Two Pickup Drivers engaging in Road Rage on Iowa roads highlights the urgent need for increased road etiquette education and cooler heads among drivers to prevent violent confrontations that endanger both their own lives as well as others.
