Scarlett Johansson has given an update on the long-awaited Tower of Terror movie project.

It was announced back in 2021 that Johansson will star in and produce a Tower of Terror movie that is based on Disney’s iconic theme park ride. The attraction is inspired by Rod Serling’s The Twilight Zone and takes place in the fictional “Hollywood Tower Hotel” in Hollywood, California.

“That’s part of the mystery of the ride. It’s been a fun project to work on, because it’s a blue sky project,” she continued, “It has also proved to be a hard nut to crack. But we’ll crack the case of it. It’s taking shape!”

Walt Disney Pictures has not yet given the Tower of Terror movie a release date. The California Disneyland version of the ride was replaced by Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout! in 2017, while the attraction still exists at Disney locations in Orlando, Paris, and Tokyo.
