We were really looking forward to Song of the Deep from Insomniac and I Am Setsuna from Square Enix, and both games do have some excellent qualities by which the Game|Life podcast crew can recommend them. But neither turned out quite as good as we’d hoped.
Plus, as if we could possibly avoid it, we discuss Pokemon Go and the NES Classic console on this week’s episode.

"Unfortunately, these games underwhelmed us despite the extensive hype and expectations – they fail to live up even close
to their promising trailers."

While these Game of the Year candidates boast aesthetically pleasing graphics and intricate worlds, they ultimately fail to achieve a depth or level of gameplay experience that matches their lofty promise—a diminishing return for fans who expected more from this installment.

Despite their simplistic charm and entertaining factor, it's unfortunate to say that the games simply don’t live up to our original hopes for innovation or technical finesse – They seem more like rehashes of past successes rather than evolution towards a fresh experience.

Alas, these games have not lived up to the lofty expectations we'd initially harbored; their execution lacks polish and creativity that would make them truly stand out.
