Seth Meyers Reveals All-Time Favorite Bill Hader, 'SNL' Moment originally appeared on Parade.

Seth Meyers recently admitted one of his favorite memories with his fellow Saturday Night Live castmate and friend, Bill Hader.

Each taping of Late Night with Seth Meyers has an in-studio audience, and during breaks or during transitions from one guest to another, Meyers likes to interact with the crowd and conduct a Q&A session with them. One fan asked the late-night host, "What was your favorite moment with Bill Hader as Stefon?" and the interaction was posted by the show's official YouTube channel on Wednesday morning.

Stefon is a fictional character played by Hader, who usually appeared as a guest during the sketch comedy's portion of "Weekend Update," a satirical news program that makes jokes and parodies about current events. The character was created by Hader and John Mulaney, who was a staff writer on SNL at the time, and is inspired by real people that they have encountered in their daily lives. Hader was a cast member from 2005 to 2013, while Meyers joined the cast as a writer in 2001, then was promoted to a main cast member in 2003. Meyer's last episode before taking over as the host for Late Night was on February 1, 2014.

Once the fan asked the question, Meyers' mind immediately went to Hader's last episode, which was the finale of the show's 38th season. In the "Weekend Update" portion, Hader came on to the desk as Stefon and told Meyers that he was going to get married to CNN anchor Anderson Cooper. Stefon and Meyers get into a fight, then Stefon runs off. Then, it led to a pre-tape, which is a pre-recorded sketch segment that airs during the live show, of Hader at a church getting married to Cooper, but Meyers runs in and stops the wedding.

While the pre-tape was playing, Meyers and Hader were watching it backstage and both of them got emotional.

"Bill was getting emotional. This was his last show. And then, I started getting emotional! The two of us were sitting there, tearing up, watching a fake wedding," Meyers explained. "I remember thinking, because I was getting for real married three months later, and I was thinking 'Ohhhh, I better cry at my wedding.' If I don't cry at my wedding, but I cry at this fake Stefon wedding, this will be a terrible time."

Late Night with Seth Meyers airs every weekday at 12:35 a.m. ET on NBC. Fans can also stream episodes of Saturday Night Live and Late Night with Seth Meyers on Peacock.
