Jeremy Allen White, who portrays Bruce Springsteen in the film, faces the daunting task of revisiting some of the most painful moments of the rockstar's life. In an interview with Rolling Stone published on June 19, Springsteen shared his thoughts on the biopic, acknowledging that it delves into some of his most personal experiences.

The legendary singer-songwriter joked that he found it less uncomfortable to watch White play him than it was for the actor himself. "Jeremy Allen White was very, very tolerant of me the days that I would appear on the set," Springsteen said. "I said to him, 'Look, anytime I'm in the way, just give me the look and I'm on my way home.' So the days that I got out there, he was wonderfully tolerant with me being there. And it was just fun. It was enjoyable."

Springsteen also expressed his consideration for the actors' feelings on set and emphasized the importance of a free-flowing creative environment. "I didn't want to get in the way, and so I would just stay at home," he said. "If Scott Cooper, the director, wanted or needed me there for something, I would try to make it. But I was on tour in Canada for the whole first month or so of the filming, and so I was out really out on the road quite a bit and working at that time."

The biopic, which first appeared on Parade on June 19, 2025, serves as a reminder of the challenges and sacrifices that come with portraying a real-life figure on screen. It highlights Springsteen's openness about his past and his appreciation for the work of the actors and director involved in the film.
