Rare 2002 Camaro Z28 Stolen From Brandon Dealership, Public Asked to Help

A rare 2002 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 was reported stolen early Friday morning from Noel Daniels Motor Company in Brandon, prompting a public call for assistance from both the dealership and local authorities.

The vehicle, a bright red Z28 model, was last seen at the dealership’s lot before disappearing under still-unknown circumstances. Dealership representatives confirmed the Camaro is easily identifiable, both for its color and rarity. Its VIN is 2G1FP22G122172012, which has been released to aid in identification and recovery efforts.

“This is not just another used car. It’s a rare Z28 with collector appeal, and someone out there will notice it,” a spokesperson for the dealership told reporters. “We’re asking for the public’s help. If anyone saw anything suspicious or has seen this Camaro, please come forward.”

Authorities from the Brandon Police Department have opened an active investigation into the theft. Surveillance footage and other security measures are being reviewed, though no suspects or leads have been publicly identified as of Friday afternoon.

The dealership has also taken to social media to share images of the vehicle and raise community awareness.

The 2002 model year marked the end of the fourth-generation Camaro, making surviving Z28s increasingly rare—especially in original condition. The stolen car’s vivid red paint and distinctive styling are expected to draw attention.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Brandon Police Department or reach the dealership directly at 769-241-1400.

As of Friday evening, the car remains missing and the investigation is ongoing.
