In a recent Q&A video, the developer of the popular multiplayer co-op survival horror game REPO has revealed plans for a big update that will be released "soon, very soon." The update will bring a range of new features, including upgrades for older maps, a new soundtrack for the museum, and several brand-new weapons.
REPO, developed by Semiwork, launched in Steam Early Access on February 26, 2025, and quickly became an instant hit due to its engaging gameplay. Players can team up with up to six others and dive into procedurally generated environments to find and carry physics-heavy items back to a truck-based extraction point while facing various obstacles, including 19 enemy types. The game features proximity voice chat, which adds an extra layer of tension as talking can be fatal in some situations due to monsters being able to hear the players.
In the Q&A video, Semiwork answered 50 different questions from players, addressing not only what's next for REPO in the upcoming update but also sharing some of its plans for future patches. The new update will include upgrades for older maps to bring them up to the museum's standard, with laser alarms being hinted at as a challenging new feature. Additionally, more areas will be introduced in the game after the museum, and the museum itself will see some new outdoor areas in a future update.
The public matchmaking/server list will also be launched with this update, allowing players to easily find and join games with others. The developer also teased some features the team is working on for future updates, including new monsters (rebalancing some of the existing ones), co-op puzzles and challenge rooms, and more. The developer also mentioned that it would like to add instruments or noisemakers to the game but that implementing anti-troll safeguards for public lobbies would be required first.
As players continue to enjoy REPO's fun co-op gameplay, they can look forward to a bunch of new content coming to the game soon. With this upcoming update and future patches, REPO is set to become an even more immersive and exciting experience for players.
