PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The City of Portland is getting ready to welcome two country superstars performing Saturday night, expected to draw tens of thousands of people to Providence Park.

“It gets really busy for the games. So with Post Malone and Jelly Roll. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. It’s going to be packed,” said Justine McGee, the Manager at the Express Market.

Across the street from Providence Park, this family-owned convenience store is preparing with all hands on deck for the Saturday concert.

“All of us are working tomorrow,” said McGee. “We got some extra like up there. We’ve got some Gatorades on top because our back stock is so full.”

They aren’t the only ones getting ready, as Tri-Met has partnered with Providence Park to help people get to the show.

“For the first time, people will be able to ride to this concert using their ticket to the concert as a proof of fare on Tri-Met,” said Mark Miller, spokesperson with Tri-Met.

Tri-Met is expecting a large amount of people on public transit, in response they are adding extra buses, trains and security.

“They’ll be on hand to remind folks of our rules for writing and to discourage any unwanted behavior. Just to keep everybody safe,” Miller said.

Portland Bureau of Transportation is making adjustments as well, with additional parking enforcement officers and increased parking meter fees.

“If you’re driving, you may get frustrated looking for a parking space. Don’t park in front of someone’s driveway. It’s disrespectful to them and it could get your vehicle ticketed and maybe even towed,” said Dylan Rivera, a spokesperson for the Portland Bureau of Transportation.

Portland police will also be at the show due to the “magnitude” of the event, said Sergeant Kevin Allen, a spokesperson with the Portland Police Bureau. That includes officers who would normally be off duty working overtime “to be inside the venue,” he said.
