Defeating the Ice Dragon: Strategies for Taming Baxcalibur Tera Raids in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

In the latest challenge of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players have banded together to form solo strategies to take down the formidable Baxcalibur, the Ice Dragon Pokemon. Known as the pseudo-legendary monster of the game, Baxcalibur is the final form of Frigibax and Arctibax and boasts high HP and physical attack stats. Throughout late June, Baxcalibur will appear in Seven-Star Tera Raid Dens throughout the Paldea region, using moves like Swords Dance, Glaive Rush, Icicle Crash, Earthquake, and Crunch to deal significant damage to its opponents.

To counteract Baxcalibur's high attack stat and its weakness to Fighting-type attacks, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers have developed strategies that revolve around using bulky creatures with high physical defense and the move Body Press. On the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit, Reddit user TranzitBusRouteB suggested how Pokemon like Orthworm and Avalugg could use their high defense stats to bolster their offensive capabilities.

Orthworm's Earth Eater ability allows it to heal itself anytime Baxcalibur uses Earthquake, while Avalugg's higher base defense statistic makes it a viable option for higher Body Press damage. TranzitBusRouteB recommended an Avalugg build with the moves Iron Defense, Body Press, Chilling Water, and Recover to counter Baxcalibur's potent attacks. While Orthworm can also use its Earth Eater ability to heal itself, Avalugg's higher base defense statistic makes it a more effective choice for Body Press damage.

Other trainers have also shared their builds for beating Baxcalibur with the aid of NPC trainer partners that have Pokemon with the Intimidate ability to cut down Baxcalibur's attack stat. Zamazenta was also recommended as a popular choice for Body Press builds, but some trainers suggested the Steel and Dragon monster Archaludon, as its Stamina ability adds to its physical defense stat anytime it's hit by an attack.

Each strategy used the Fighting-type as their main Tera type to boost the damage of Body Press and eliminate any weaknesses to Baxcalibur's attacks. However, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers have until June 29 to battle and capture Baxcalibur the Unrivaled.

In conclusion, the strategies developed by Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have shown that even the most formidable of opponents can be defeated with the right combination of tactics and teamwork. With the help of defensive monsters like Orthworm, Avalugg, Archaludon, and Zamazenta, players can take on Baxcalibur and emerge victorious in this latest Tera Raid challenge.
