Pokemon GO Unveils July 2025 Community Day: Quaxly Takes Center Stage

Pokemon GO has announced that Quaxly, the fan-favorite Gen 9 starter, will be the star of the next Community Day event on July 20, 2025. The excitement among players who had hoped to see Quaxly in a similar event during the Might and Mastery season has been palpable. After Sprigatito and Fuecoco starred in the January and March Community Days, respectively, Quaxly was the only remaining Paldean starter to receive its first Community Day.

The developers had previously teased the event in earlier trailers, and after Quaxly briefly appeared in Pokemon GO's Delightful Days trailer in May, fans expected a major event to be imminent. The recent teaser featuring Quaxly's signature blue webbed feet only fueled the speculation even further.

During Quaxly's Community Day on July 20, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, players will have a higher chance of encountering Quaxly in the wild and its shiny version. Lure Modules and Incense will last three hours, and there will be triple the Stardust and double Candy from catching Pokemon. Additionally, players will be able to fully evolve their Quaxly to obtain a Quaquaval that knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon. This effect will be available starting from the event until July 27 at 10:00 PM.

However, the announcement of Gold Bottle Caps in Pokemon GO has sparked a debate among players as to whether it's a pay-to-win feature. The developers shared that starting from Quaxly's Community Day and onward, Quaquaval will be able to learn the Charged Attack Aqua Step. The event will also launch a week-long Timed Research opportunity that guarantees a Quaxly with a seasonal background. Fans can purchase a $2 Community Day ticket for additional rewards like extra Quaxly encounters, a Premium Battle Pass, and Rare Candy XL.

While Quaxly's Community Day is still weeks away, Pokemon GO players still have some exciting activities left for June. The game recently launched its Ancients Recovered event featuring all the Regi Legendaries. However, the introduction of Gold Bottle Caps and Hyper Training has received criticism for not making it a free-to-play item.

In conclusion, Pokemon GO's Quaxly Community Day event is set to be a highly anticipated event for fans of the game. With the introduction of Gold Bottle Caps and the opportunity to learn new Charged Attacks, players will have plenty of reasons to log in and participate in the event. However, the debate over whether Gold Bottle Caps are a pay-to-win feature will undoubtedly continue to be a topic of discussion among the community.
