Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding is finally upon us—and their celebrity guests arrived to Venice to attend the couple’s pre-wedding events in droves. (And on Friday, attended the wedding ceremony.)
As of Thursday evening, paparazzi have already captured a number of notable names in the historic Italian city. The Kardashian-Jenner clan was spotted arriving en masse, with Kim, Khloé, Kendall, Kylie and Kris all spotted taking welcome taxis to a welcome event. They were soon followed by Vittoria Ceretti and Leonardo DiCaprio. Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey was seen departing the airport with her BFF Gayle King, who famously participated in Sánchez’s all-female space flight earlier this year. And Orlando Bloom—who recently split from Katy Perry—has also been photographed in the UNESCO World Heritage city.
The wedding has dominated global news headlines over the past several weeks. Tabloids have been covering rumors on who, exactly, is attending, while more reputable news outlets are covering the protests in Venice by those who believe the wedding is exacerbating the city’s problems with overtourism. (This is something that the couple’s wedding planners, Lanza and Baucina, have denied, as well as the mayor of Venice himself: “We are mutually working and supporting the organizers, to ensure that the event will be absolutely respectful of the fragility and uniqueness of the city,” Mayor Luigi Brugnaro said, according to the Associated Press.)
