Overwatch 2 has officially launched its latest season, titled "Powered Up," and it's bringing a plethora of new content to the first-person shooter. The latest season features a refreshed Battle Pass, the first-ever dual Mythic skin release, and the new Aatlis Flashpoint map. But that's not all – Overwatch 2 has also launched a new Twitch Drop campaign to celebrate the new season.
The Twitch Drop campaign allows players to earn free Epic and normal Loot Boxes by watching Overwatch 2 streams on Twitch. From now through July 6, players can earn two free Loot Boxes by watching five hours of any Overwatch 2 streamers on Twitch. The first Loot Box is awarded after two hours of watching, and the second, which is an Epic Loot Box, is awarded after five hours.
To participate in the Twitch Drop campaign, players need to connect their Battle.net and Twitch accounts. Once the required watch time is met, players can claim their rewards from the Twitch Drops inventory, and the Loot Boxes will automatically appear in Overwatch 2.
In addition to the Twitch Drop campaign, Overwatch 2 Season 17 also features a special event called "Powered Up." From now through the end of June, players can earn up to four more Epic Loot Boxes just by playing the game. These Loot Boxes are awarded after 3, 8, 12, and 17 games, with wins and Stadium games counting for double progress. Every four Epic Loot Boxes contain a guaranteed Legendary item, so fans who collect the ones from the Powered Up event and the Twitch Drops will earn one of these chase cosmetics while also getting a quarter of the way towards their next one.
The new season also brings some significant changes to the game's maps. Blizzard has revealed that it will be reworking two of its maps: Suravasa and New Junk City. The developer shared more about these changes in a recent developer livestream, which you can watch on the official Overwatch 2 YouTube channel.
