Lakers Dominate Rockets to Even NBA Finals Series, Out-Rebounding Houston by 14
Based on this image and the accompanying text, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Houston Rockets 112-108 in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. LeBron James led the Lakers with 38 points, and Anthony Davis added 26 points and 10 rebounds. The Lakers were dominant on both ends of the court, holding the Rockets to only 40.5% shooting through the first three quarters and out-rebounding Houston by 14. Houston's James Harden had a relatively quiet night, scoring only 17 points through the game's first three quarters before finishing with 23. The Lakers never took their foot off the gas Sunday, taking a 10-point lead with 6 minutes and 37 seconds left in the second quarter and leading by double digits for the rest of the night. The Lakers were better in several areas in Game 2 compared with Game 1, especially offensively, shooting more efficiently from the field, getting to the free-throw line more often, and making more 3s. James had a much better performance, hitting 13 of his 25 field goals Sunday and shooting 9 of 10 from the free-throw line. Lakers big man Marc Gasol also had a bounce-back performance, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. The Rockets couldn't mount their umpteenth comeback of the postseason, trailing for the last 37 minutes and three seconds Sunday and never leading by more than four points. Game 3 is in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
