Minecraft Update Adds A Minecraft Movie-Inspired Dennis Painting and Lava Chicken Music Disc

Minecraft has released a new update that brings some fresh content to the game based on the hit movie A Minecraft Movie. Players who enjoyed the film adaptation of Minecraft will be able to enjoy a couple of callbacks to the movie, including one of its most iconic memes and a memorable character.

The new additions to the game include a Dennis painting and a Lava Chicken music disc. Dennis is a wolf that belongs to Steve in the film, and a blocky portrait of the pup is now available in the game. The Lava Chicken music disc, on the other hand, plays an instrumental take on Steve's famous Lava Chicken song.

The Dennis painting is available now for both Java and Bedrock editions of the game. However, the Lava Chicken music disc is only available in the Java Edition at the time of publication. Mojang has stated that it will be arriving in Bedrock "soon," but provided no further details on a release date. Players in the Java Edition who want the music disc for themselves will need to seek out and defeat a Chicken Jockey for a chance of it dropping.

A Minecraft Movie experienced a troubled development period, initially being planned as far back as 2014 and finally releasing in 2025. However, a sequel is reportedly already in early development, which has been referred to as "Another Minecraft Movie."
