What is ‘My Mom Jayne’ about?
“My Mom Jayne” is Mariska Hargitay’s feature film directorial debut. Richard Shotwell/Invision/APAlmost six decades after her mom’s tragic passing, Hargitay wove interviews with family members, home movies and archival photos into an intimate portrait of Mansfield — a Hollywood legend and one of the most-photographed stars of the 1950s.
“Her career made me want to do it differently, but I want to understand her now,” Hargitay says in the film’s trailer.
The project also resulted in the public revelation that Mickey Hargitay, who passed away in 2006, is not her biological father — a family secret she’d been holding for more than three decades.
