MTV Is Reportedly Cancelling Two Original Shows

Two television shows on MTV UK are getting the axe.
According to Jesse Whittock and Max Goldbart of Deadline, two of the network's local original shows, Gonzo and Fresh Out UK, are being cancelled, and most of the staff for both shows are leaving.
The news comes amid layoffs at Paramount Global, which owns MTV UK. The layoffs are also impacting the MTV talent team and Paramount UK's original production team, the latter of which saw significant layoffs two years ago.

The report from Deadline adds that the network is making "a shift towards global content over local originals."
Gonzo was on the air for over two decades after it debuted in 2004, and the hosts, Saunders and Dudley, would interview bands and artists on the show.
Fresh Out UK, which first launched in 2020, had a similar format but also included artists taking part in games and live performances.
