Jurassic World Rebirth: Scarlett Johanssons Decision to Let Her Daughter Watch the Scariest Installment
Scarlett Johansson, the star of the upcoming film Jurassic World Rebirth, has revealed that she will let her 10-year-old daughter Rose watch the movie despite it being described as the "scariest" in the franchise. The actress spoke about her own childhood memories of watching Jurassic Park movies at the film's New York premiere. Johansson, who also starred in the film Jojo Rabbit, said that she wanted to create a memorable moviegoing experience for her children. She recalled being 10 years old when she first saw Jurassic Park and the impact it had on her, including the jump scares and the terror. "It's still appropriate for the family," she told E! News at the premiere. "You just gotta watch it through the crack in your fingers." The actress also shared her admiration for what makes the Jurassic Park franchise so special. "That's part of what's so great about Jurassic," she said. "It's thrilling in all ways: visually and also emotionally." Johansson also mentioned that she has built a new "family" while filming Jurassic World Rebirth, referring to her co-stars Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, and Rupert Friend. However, Johansson's daughter Rose is not as enthusiastic about watching her Marvel movies. The actress previously told PEOPLE that her daughter likes that she plays Black Widow but is too scared to watch an Avengers movie. "She's just like, 'It's violent,'" Johansson said. "I'm like, 'Oh God.'" On another occasion, Johansson complained that her daughter Rose watched Wicked without her. "My daughter saw it without me and I'm really upset about it!" she quipped. "I'm going to make her go again, for sure. I'm sure she'd be happy to." Jurassic World Rebirth is set to hit theaters on July 2. The film is directed by J.A. Bayona and also stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, who reprise their roles from the original Jurassic Park trilogy.
