InZOI, a life simulator game that first entered Early Access in March 2025, has made a significant change to its upcoming update that was previously announced. This news is sure to be welcomed by InZOI players and will help improve the upcoming update. As a new competitor in the life simulator genre, InZOI has faced comparisons to The Sims but has managed to stand out from the crowd with its unique features and positive first impressions.
Despite the buzz around its release and strong initial sales, InZOI's player count has continued to dwindle, with some believing that the current lack of content is holding it back from being as replayable as its competitors. However, as an Early Access title, InZOI still has plenty of time to bring players back into the fold when it's more feature-complete.
The latest announcement from game director Hungjun "Kjun" Kim on the InZOI Discord confirms that the previously announced third city, Kucingku, has been renamed to Cahaya. This new city will be a resort-themed destination where players can enjoy some rest and relaxation away from the bustle of city life. Cahaya will offer a variety of vibrant and refreshing experiences across exotic islands that can't be found in previous cities, such as farming, relaxing, boating, and exploring uninhabited islands.
According to Kjun, the Cahaya update comes from a personal place. While developing InZOI has been a source of great joy for him, there are times when he feels the urge to get away from it all. Inspired by these feelings, he wanted to create a retreat for players exhausted by the motions of everyday life to unwind in. This is reflected in the activities on Cahaya, too, with InZOI jobs and schools entirely excluded from the island. Instead, players will engage in a self-sufficient lifestyle through activities such as farming or fishing.
While no release date has been given for the Cahaya free DLC, Kjun did note in the announcement that InZOI will be heading to Gamescom to officially reveal everything it has to offer. Recent InZOI updates have helped the game make great strides forward, so hopefully it can continue with this momentum even as more content is added to the game.
InZOI's journey so far has been one of growth and improvement, and with the addition of Cahaya, it seems that the game is poised to take another step forward in its quest to become a more replayable and engaging life simulator. As an Early Access title, there is still plenty of room for growth and improvement, but with each new update and feature added to the game, InZOI is becoming a more compelling option for players looking for a unique life simulation experience.
