Heading To Quebec City? Hôtel Le Germain Is Your Cozy French Canadian Dream Hotel

After a long 10+ hour travel day from San Francisco, we walked into Hôtel Le Germain Quebec's lobby and I immediately gasped.

The lobby was probably the best lobby smell I've ever encountered - fresh pine mixed with a cozy fireplace and I wanted nothing more than to toss my suitcase aside, grab a Kir and sink into a plush couch.

We spent 3 days in Québec and couldn't have picked a better spot to make home base as we explored the sights, visited the Christmas Markets, ate at the best Quebec restaurants, and did day trips to Montmorency Falls and Île d'Orléans.

Of all the Quebec City hotels, we loved this little cozy slice of heaven. It has great city views and a short walk from all the hot spots in Old Quebec City, but it's not in the thick of things so we never felt too overwhelmed by crowds.

I personally loved how I could see the view of the Fairmont Frontenac from our room and reach it with a quick 10 minute walk and a tram ride, but was just a 5 minute walk from all the tasty restaurants in Old Quebec (and no uphill walk required!)

Expect Great Food & Service

Le Germain Hotels are known for top-notch service and style without being pretentious, and they nailed that here.

We loved the friendly staff, comfortable rooms with TVs that featured Chrome Cast so we could keep up with our series, pet-friendly policy and a dang good daily breakfast.

I quickly became addicted to a morning croissant with espresso and one of their yogurts (I'm drooling just writing this sentence). If you're debating on whether or not to opt for the breakfast, do so. Trust me.

Make Time For A Drink

Since we arrived late at night to Quebec City, we were both starving and totally expecting to have to beg the hotel bar to give us a little snack.

Well, turns out the bar stays open really late each night so that's not an issue. And don't worry, it's not a loud party scene that keeps you awake in your room. Think: small talk next to a large fireplace sipping maple whiskey vibes.

We opted for a tasty charcuterie board which hit the spot, along with drinks. And, we found ourselves grabbing a nightcap every evening here. Something is so nice about spending the day exploring in winter weather and then coming back to this cozy lobby for a drink.

My two standout drinks are the Old Fashioned but ask for it with the local maple whiskey (I would fly back to Quebec City right now just to taste that drink again), and their Kir, a Quebecois staple.

Oh, and they're dog friendly if you're traveling with a pup!

If you're looking for the best hotel in Quebec City, you'll adore Hôtel Le Germain. This was my first time staying with this hotel family but won't be my last. They made an impression, in all the best ways.
