Genshin Impact Confirms Event Banners for Version 5.8

Genshin Impact has confirmed that Ineffa and Citlali will feature in the first half of Version 5.8, while Chasca and Mualani will headline the second half of the update. There is a lot to look forward to in Version 5.8, between a new zone, the Summer Event, new outfits, the Archon Quest, but Genshin Impact has always been about its characters, and Ineffa is set to join its ever-growing cast as a 5-Star Electro Polearm.

There are plenty of things that Ineffa has going for her. Apart from Beidou, she's the first proper Electro Shield character, and her ability kit is intuitive and easy to use. While her numbers aren't as ambitious as those of Escoffier, Ineffa has the makings of a 5-Star that will only get better with time. Version 6.0 will introduce a dedicated Artifact Set for Ineffa in Genshin Impact, and Nod-Krai is set to further expand Lunar Elemental Reactions.

As revealed in the latest developer livestream and shared on social media, the Event Wishes for Version 5.8 will have Ineffa and Citlali in the first half of the update, while the second half will feature Mualani and Chasca. For an update that is meant to usher in Nod-Krai while closing off the Natlan era of Genshin Impact, the Event Banners are in perfect conformity to that vision. Citlali, Mualani, and Chasca are all due for a rerun, leaving Varesa the only Natlan character in Genshin Impact without a rerun by Nod-Krai.

Genshin Impact: Version 5.8 Event Wishes

While HoYoverse hasn't revealed any 4-Star characters in the lineup, there are a few logical choices to consider. Given that Bennett is receiving a new Genshin Impact skin in Version 5.8, there is a decent chance that he'll show up on the Event Banners in the second half. Furthermore, Version 5.8 was datamined to feature Xingqiu and Fischl, who will likely be placed in the first half alongside Ineffa. Unfortunately, the other three 4-Stars are anyone's guess.

As for the Weapon Banners, Chasca's Bow and Citlali's Catalyst will likely be the main draw. That being said, with the reveal of Lauma as Nod-Krai's second playable character, it may be prudent to save up on Primogems until fans know more about the full lineup in Version 6.0. Perhaps the smartest investment for the upcoming Genshin Impact region will be to choose at least one Lunar Reaction and build a team around it. Version 5.8 is set to launch on July 30, 2025, which will also mark the beginning of beta testing for Nod-Krai.
