FBC: Firebreak Surpasses Major Player Milestone

MalaysiaGames2025-06-287940

Remedy Entertainment has revealed that its latest game, FBC: Firebreak, has reached a total of one million players shortly over a week after the game's launch on June 17. Available across most platforms as well as Xbox Game Pass from day one, FBC: Firebreak is a break from tradition in comparison to Remedy's other famous titles, representing the studio's first multiplayer-focused co-op title.

FBC: Firebreak launched to mixed reviews earlier this month, attracting plenty of existing fans of the Remedy connected universe but making itself difficult for a lot of players to get into due to its lack of effective tutorials. FBC: Firebreak shows fans what the situation is like at the Federal Bureau of Control six years after the events of Control, taking place in the same familiar location known as the Oldest House. This impossible building serves as the organization's headquarters, and players will get to see many of its unnatural branches and sectors as they fight against the Hiss invasion throughout FBC: Firebreak.

Now, barely nine days after the game's worldwide launch, Remedy has confirmed that FBC: Firebreak has rallied a total of one million Firebreakers to clean up the Oldest House. While FBC: Firebreak consciously avoids calling itself a live-service game, at least in the traditional sense, Remedy has confirmed its intent to continually add to and improve the game over the coming years. Though it isn't a free-to-play game, Firebreak's price tag is lower than what gamers tend to see for most other Triple-A titles nowadays, and it seems Remedy intends to keep FBC: Firebreak as a one-time purchase while introducing future content updates for free.

The game does, however, include optional paid cosmetic packs called Classified Requisitions, which are sold separately, with more of these requisitions planned to come with future updates. FBC: Firebreak has already revealed some information about future updates which are planned to roll out later this year, with these free updates bringing new locations, levels, weapons, and more. Remedy has hinted that it plans to reveal more information regarding the future of Firebreak soon.

These future updates can't come soon enough for some players, though, with one of the game's biggest issues being the relatively limited amount of content there is to jump into currently. That said, FBC: Firebreak has given players a lot of hope thanks to how quickly it has adapted to player feedback post-launch. Some of FBC: Firebreak's first updates have already addressed some of the most common criticisms surrounding the game, making significant improvements to upgrade and job progression while also making adjustments to the UI to help players understand the game's mechanics a little better right off the bat.
