'Evita' Star Rachel Zegler Talks About Unwavering Support From 50-Year-Old Hollywood Star originally appeared on Parade.

Opening night for the West End revival of the hit musical Evita took place on Tuesday night at the London Palladium, which has already received many positive reviews from fans and critics, especially about Rachel Zegler's performance, who plays the main character, Eva Duarte de Perón.

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Evita is a through-sung musical that follows Eva, an illegitimate young girl from Los Toldos, who becomes an actress and eventually the First Lady of Argentina before her tragic death from cancer at 33 years old.

Many celebrities, including Keanu Reeves, Pedro Pascal, Sarah Paulson, Ben Whishaw and Dame Elaine Paige, attended the opening night performance on Tuesday evening, according to Deadline.

Though Pascal and Zegler have not worked together on screen yet, they both share a mutual love and respect for each other. When the 24-year-old actress was receiving a lot of backlash for her most recent film Snow White, Pascal called her an "icon" on his Instagram story back in April and has repeatedly praised Zegler's talents.

In a recent interview done with Hits Radio UK on TikTok, the West Side Story actress explained she noticed Pascal in the audience after finishing the song "Rainbow High." She imitated the 50-year-old actor's reaction to the song, which was him standing up in the middle of the act and applauding proudly.

"One thing about my daddy Pedro, he goes to bat for me, in a way I love so dearly. But, he was standing after every number," Zegler said with a smile. "When I spotted him for the first time, I was like 'daaaadd!'"

Evita will be playing at the London Palladium for 12 weeks, with no chance of an extension. But, Rice told Deadlinethat he "love for it to go straight away" to Broadway in New York City, stressing it could happen early next year.
