“Very silly of you all to assume that just because I have my hands full with many things that I plan to abandon singing & music … !!! It is and has always been my lifeline. There will need to be room made for all of it,” the Wicked star said in the caption of her latest post, adding a fairy emoji at the end of the sentence.

“It may not look exactly like it did before but I much prefer how it looks in my head. I am having fun. I feel grateful and excited and inspired. Finding a balance, between many projects and endeavors I love, and doing it my own way, so I’m working on a plan to sing for you all next year; even if it’s just for a little,” she added. “I love you.”

The clarification comes a day after Grande was announced to star in Wicked director Jon M. Chu’s Oh, the Places You’ll Go! animated feature adaptation alongside Josh Gad. The musical film is set to hit theaters in March 2028 and will feature original songs written by EGOT winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Earlier this summer, it was announced that Grande would star opposite Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro in Meet the Parents 4.

TheWickedstar, who hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for the deluxe edition of her album Eternal Sunshine just a few months ago, has had a whirlwind year since the initial release of the album in 2024. She earned her first Oscar nomination for her role as Glinda in the adaptation of the hit stage musical; the film’s second part,Wicked: For Good, is slated to be released later this year.
