Rare coachbuilt Bentley S3 Continental convertible, maintained for long-distance touring, now offered in exceptional condition.

A rare 1966 Bentley S3 Continental Drophead Coupe by H.J. Mulliner Park Ward has surfaced on the market through Motorious, offering collectors a unique opportunity to own one of the last hand-built examples of Bentley’s coachbuilt open-top classics.

Delivered new to Jersey in February 1966, this particular car is believed to be the final example delivered to the Channel Islands and one of the last five S3 Continental DHCs ever produced. Within a year, it was acquired by the Rt. Hon. Marquis of Normanby and later found its way into the inventory of Aston Martin (Sales) Ltd in Knightsbridge by 1977, where it was sold to an American collector for £17,000.

The Bentley returned to the UK in 1989 with only 38,630 miles recorded. Since then, it has had just three owners, the most recent of whom has meticulously maintained the car for over a decade, investing more than £100,000 in mechanical and structural upkeep. Though it has never undergone a full restoration, the car's continuous care ensures it remains in outstanding condition, both mechanically and cosmetically.

Finished in a refined gray-blue leather interior with blue mohair soft top, the Bentley retains many original features, including electric windows and a hydraulic roof system. Notably, it is equipped with a Becker Mexico Retro stereo system, blending vintage design with modern convenience.

With 74,994 miles now showing, much of that logged on extended European tours through France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and even New Zealand, the S3 Continental DHC proves itself not just as a collector’s piece, but a capable and elegant grand tourer. The car includes original build records, ownership history, and recent service documentation.

This S3 is more than a museum piece—it’s a true driving classic ready for its next chapter.
